This is the first edition (and the first book he published) of his famous <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Ithaka der Peloponnes und Troja: Arch\u00e4ologische forschungen<\/span><\/em>, 1869.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mulibraries.missouri.edu\/newsnotes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/Schliemann-signature.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2935\" title=\"Schliemann signature\" src=\"http:\/\/mulibraries.missouri.edu\/newsnotes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/Schliemann-signature.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"748\" srcset=\"https:\/\/library.missouri.edu\/newsnotes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2010\/12\/Schliemann-signature.jpg 500w, https:\/\/library.missouri.edu\/newsnotes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2010\/12\/Schliemann-signature-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here is the title page with the inscription, which could be translated as:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;To the lover of the arts Mr. Erik Barren (or Henry Warren?) as a memorial. 1874.
