\u00d8\u00a0 INFORMATIONAL:\u00a0 Guest James Hunter, Director of the MU Employee Assistance Program (EAP),\u00a0 discussed \u201cReflective Spaces\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0 (Leo Agnew in attendance.)<\/p>\n
o\u00a0\u00a0 \u201dReflective spaces\u201d is a tool\/service developed by the EAP that can help organizations discuss and approach change.\u00a0 Overall goal: create a learning organization.<\/p>\n
o\u00a0\u00a0 After open discussion period, Leo and Director Hunter left the meeting.<\/p>\n
\u00d8\u00a0 INFORMATIONAL: Ellen Blair and Jim C. met with the Provost and his budget team last week (Tuesday, November 30th<\/sup>).<\/p>\n o\u00a0\u00a0 Discussed Library scenarios that would embrace two different possible funding cuts from the state to MU.<\/p>\n \u00a7\u00a0 Scenario one: 10% reduction in state funding over the next three years.<\/p>\n \u00a7\u00a0 Scenario two:\u00a0 25% reduction in state funding over the next three years.<\/p>\n o\u00a0\u00a0 At this time, it is believed the cut to Higher Education will be somewhere between 13-15%.<\/p>\n \u00a7\u00a0 Translates to a likely a 4-6% decrease to Library funding for the next three years.<\/p>\n o\u00a0\u00a0 Discussion ensued regarding how to address budget decrease.<\/p>\n \u00a7\u00a0 Current savings from hiring freeze will help – But salary savings cannot cover anticipated cuts after fiscal year 2012.<\/p>\n \u00a7\u00a0 University still expecting to try a salary increase of some kind.<\/p>\n \u00a7\u00a0 Ongoing discussions will take place at future meetings and incorporating input of Faculty and Staff.<\/p>\n \u00d8\u00a0 INFORMATIONAL:\u00a0 MU Libraries All-Staff meeting will be: January 13,\u00a0 2:00 \u2013 3:30 pm<\/p>\n o\u00a0\u00a0 Along with a Budget updates and other reports, Jim would like to present MU Library Staffing data and projections assembled by Leo Agnew \u2013(draft shared).<\/p>\n o\u00a0\u00a0 To be discussed further as we approach all staff meeting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Information\/Action Items from Library Management Team meeting 12\/7\/10 Attendees:\u00a0 Jim Cogswell, Ann Riley, Mike Holland, Deb Ward, Guests: Leo Agnew, James Hunter Support:\u00a0 Mark Ellis \u00d8\u00a0 INFORMATIONAL:\u00a0 Guest James Hunter, Director of the MU Employee Assistance Program (EAP),\u00a0 discussed \u201cReflective…<\/span><\/p>\n\n
