{"id":10437,"date":"2017-02-10T17:29:13","date_gmt":"2017-02-10T17:29:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/library.missouri.edu\/newsnotes\/?p=10437"},"modified":"2017-02-10T17:29:13","modified_gmt":"2017-02-10T17:29:13","slug":"healthy-for-life-update-176","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/library.missouri.edu\/newsnotes\/2017\/02\/10\/healthy-for-life-update-176\/","title":{"rendered":"Healthy for Life Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<strong><u>Let&rsquo;s Acknowledge Employees for Practicing Random Acts of Wellness <\/u><\/strong><br \/>\n\tIn week 3 of Caught in the Act, a total of <strong>72<\/strong> employees from every University of Missouri campus were acknowledged for practicing Random Acts of Wellness.&nbsp;Keep those submission rolling in!\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tHere is a sampling of nominations from week 3:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tCreating an exercise group that meets every Monday\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tEncouraging micro breaks such as stretching and walking down the hall\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tHosting a healthy crockpot luncheon\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tCreating a staff development program in which presenters come and present over various wellness topics such as mindfulness.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\tThe raffle winners from <strong>week 3<\/strong> are as follows:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tMissouri S&amp;T- Patty Reising nominated by Dorie Paine\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tUMSL &ndash; &nbsp;Susan Johnson nominated by Laura Watt\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tUMKC &#8211; Alia Herman nominated by Hallie Spencer\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tColumbia &ndash; Janice Jacobson nominated by Samuel Otten\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tHospital &#8211;&nbsp; Jennifer Townsend nominated by Barbara Haslag\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tUM System- Nishant Jain nominated by Maria Barrett\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\tWinners of the weekly raffle will receive a prize of their choice.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThere are many employees out there practicing random acts of wellness, so let us know who they are.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Submit a colleagues name now for practicing a random act of wellness?<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/umurl.us\/CITA\">http:\/\/umurl.us\/CITA<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<br \/>\n\t<strong><u>Culture of Health priority area: Empower and appreciate<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\n\tEach Culture of Health priority area is featured on the Wellness Website along with many programs, discounts, and resources.
