{"id":10312,"date":"2016-12-23T16:35:02","date_gmt":"2016-12-23T16:35:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/library.missouri.edu\/newsnotes\/?p=10312"},"modified":"2016-12-23T16:35:02","modified_gmt":"2016-12-23T16:35:02","slug":"library-management-team-122216","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/library.missouri.edu\/newsnotes\/2016\/12\/23\/library-management-team-122216\/","title":{"rendered":"Library Management Team 12\/22\/16"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\tPresent: Sheryl Cullina, Anslem Huelsbergen, Corrie Hutchinson, Pat Jones, Kathy Peters, Jeannette Pierce, Ann Riley, Ernest Shaw, Deb Ward\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Next week time off:<\/strong><br \/>\n\t<u>Discussion<\/u>:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t<strong>Summary of offices open\/close status:<\/strong> <u>Public Archives<\/u> closed for community access, <u>Special Collections<\/u> will close, <u>Reference<\/u> would like alternative hours, maybe 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., <u>Circulation<\/u> will close shelving and borrowing and lending but the circulation desk is open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., <u>Specialized Libraries<\/u> will close, <u>IT<\/u> will close but Earnest will be available for emergencies, <u>State Historical Society<\/u> will be open, Administration Office will be open 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., <u>Library HR &amp; Notary<\/u> will be off, <u>Development<\/u> will be in the office, <u>UMLD<\/u> will be closed\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t<strong>Ann<\/strong>: Ellis library will be open to the public with a greatly reduced staff.&nbsp; Newest update: student employees are not included in the time off next week; they can work if their supervisor is working.&nbsp; Security will have to make the decision if there is bad weather during that week and need to get a list of who is working when. Employees who want to work during this week have the option to take the administrative leave at another time.&nbsp; Chain of command: Kathy, Deb (some of the time), Jeannette, Corrie will be in town (prefer email if necessary)\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\t<u>Action for all<\/u>: please send a list of employees who will be working to PJ.\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t<strong>Jeannette<\/strong>: Someone to answer lib answers is being worked out, chat staff is late night and weekend coverage, Ann would like a reduced daytime hour coverage for chat staff; Circulation desk still looking at 1 vs 2 staff per day, a desk sign will be placed indicating hours staffed, breaks &amp; lunches, when determined.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t<strong>Deb<\/strong>: no staff in any of our buildings may have GLAs in HSL reference, Deb will notify security\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\t<u>Action<\/u>: Deb will email Kathy the dates she will be in town for emergencies.\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t<strong>Pat<\/strong>: 7:30 a.m. &ndash; 5:30 p.m., getting the building open will take a little longer, Marcia and Edwin will be alternating working.&nbsp; Security will be doing a headcount in the library during this week.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\t<u>Action<\/u>: will adjust closing announcement for Circulation closing at 4:30pm.\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t<strong>Shannon<\/strong>: will post hours to our website\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t<strong>Sheryl<\/strong>: Admin leave code: in the past supervisors have added that to the timesheet and it&rsquo;s not available for employees.&nbsp;\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Spring Hours:<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<u>Discussion:<\/u>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tShould we be open 24 hours for 3 weeks during spring finals week? Important dates, Commencement weekend, were discussed and headcount numbers from this past fall finals week were reported.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tWill need to adjust sign on North door to reflect time library opens.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tPlease approve all signs through Shannon\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tLibrary society: We will need to close down 201; furniture movers need, will talk about this at future planning meeting.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Ann and Kathy&rsquo;s Budget Meeting with Administration follow-up<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<u>Discussion:<\/u>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tThere were no surprises, we asked for money, they said they couldn&rsquo;t give any.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tTalked about prepared reports, needs, hoping we don&rsquo;t have to make 5% cuts,\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tBuilding the depository for debt services,\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tPaper vs. online resources,\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tFaculty have asked collections to be sheltered from 5% cuts, MOBIUS collection, Elsevier.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tState historical space, need archives into Ellis, space planning moving forward,\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tRhonda wanted to know how much we spend on utilities and rent. Expansion support possible, opportunities are open for discussion about expansion.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\t<strong><u>Follow-ups from last meeting:<\/u><\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Priority of Position Preferences reminder &ndash;<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<u>Action for all:<\/u> Please send a sentence about what each position does to Jacqueline ASAP.&nbsp; We would still like the final ranking deadline to be Jan. 6\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Writing Tutors:<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<u>Discussion:<\/u>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tSSC normally offered writing tutors until 9 but are asked to closed at 5 p.m. next semester, SSC contacted Jeannette to obtain location for possible writing tutors after 5 p.m.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tThey requested a space out of Gov. Docs. from 4 p.m. &ndash; 9 p.m. Additionally, they may want to move the writing tutor out of the study room to the Gov. Docs. area for 7-8 all day tutors.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tThis would require us to relocate disability accessibility computers.
