{"id":10266,"date":"2016-12-01T19:02:19","date_gmt":"2016-12-01T19:02:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/library.missouri.edu\/newsnotes\/?p=10266"},"modified":"2016-12-01T19:02:19","modified_gmt":"2016-12-01T19:02:19","slug":"library-management-team-information-and-action-items-112216","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/library.missouri.edu\/newsnotes\/2016\/12\/01\/library-management-team-information-and-action-items-112216\/","title":{"rendered":"Library Management Team Information and Action Items 11\/22\/16"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\tPresent: &nbsp;Shannon Cary, Sheryl Cullina, Anselm Huelsbergen, Corrie Hutchinson, Kathy Peters, Jeannette Pierce, Ann Riley, Ernest Shaw, Deb Ward\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tGuests: Grace Atkins and Nav Khanal<\/p>\n<p>\t<strong>Update on Student Affairs Fee<\/strong><br \/>\n\tINFORMATION: Grace gave LMT an update on the progress of the Student Affairs Fee.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tACTION: Grace and Kathy will work on new Libraries numbers for the proposal.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Tour of E-Learning Facilities in Ellis Library<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tINFORMATION: Nav took LMT on a tour of three rooms that have recently been remodeled or updated to accommodate e-learning activities.\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tRoom 158 (Goodie Bhullar&rsquo;s former office) is currently set up as a consultation room, where librarians can meet with students to assist with research projects. It is possible to do online consultation from the room also.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tRoom 156 (the former reference workroom) is now an e-learning room where librarians can work on e-learning projects and produce videos.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tRooms 2E21 and 3E21, which are study rooms, now each have one wall painted to be a green screen. Students can reserve these rooms for video and photo creation. Some enhancements still need to made to these rooms, including sound muffling and adding movable furniture.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\tACTION: Nav will work with Kathy and Pat to get carpet squares for the green screen rooms to help with the sound.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Budget Review<\/strong><br \/>\n\tINFORMATION: The Libraries&rsquo; campus budget meeting has been postponed until December 16. Kathy shared the updated budget assumptions and models for FY16 through FY20 with LMT.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Space for Writing Center<\/strong><br \/>\n\tINFORMATION: Jeannette stated the Writing Center is looking for space for evening tutoring, from 7 to 9 pm, because the Student Success Center is going to start closing at 7 pm. They need space for eight tutors.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tACTION: Jeannette will work with the Writing Center to find space for evening tutoring in Ellis Library.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Security and Building Announcements<\/strong><br \/>\n\tINFORMATION: Kathy made the following announcements.\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tWe are installing solar shades in room 202.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tPainting of registers has stopped for a while in room 114 because of staffing issues.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tSome of the new furniture for Bookmark is in place. Electrical work is being done also.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Development Update<\/strong><br \/>\n\tINFORMATION: Ann announced that Major Garrett, MU alum and chief White House Correspondent for CBS, will be the speaker at the 2017 Library Society event.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Personnel Updates<\/strong><br \/>\n\tINFORMATION: Sheryl make the following announcements.\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tThe fiscal assistant position in Administration has been filled. The new person will start on Dec. 5.
