{"id":10019,"date":"2016-09-02T18:22:25","date_gmt":"2016-09-02T18:22:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/library.missouri.edu\/newsnotes\/?p=10019"},"modified":"2016-09-02T18:22:25","modified_gmt":"2016-09-02T18:22:25","slug":"healthy-for-life-update-167","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/library.missouri.edu\/newsnotes\/2016\/09\/02\/healthy-for-life-update-167\/","title":{"rendered":"Healthy for Life Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<strong><u>Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction- Now Enrolling<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\n\tMindfulness-Based Stress Reduction is an in-person 8-week program that helps participants learn to manage today&rsquo;s busy lifestyles in a healthy way.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>What can I expect from the in-person course?<\/strong><br \/>\n\tThe eight-week program includes weekly two-hour classes plus a retreat. Classes include instruction in formal mindfulness practices (meditation, body scan, mindful yoga, and walking meditation). Weekly, at-home practice assignments help develop mindfulness skills and take mindfulness into everyday life. Regular class attendance and a commitment of 30 minutes of practice per day for the entire duration of the course are recommended. Doing so could earn you $350 in your final October paycheck (however, you must have completed Tier 1 in order to participate in Tier 2).
