Edward McCain, the Digital Curator of Journalism at the Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute is retiring from the MU Libraries as of September 30th. He has been with the libraries for the last nine years and has made great strides moving the efforts of digital news preservation forward here at the University as well as laid groundwork that could have a direct impact on the news industry. Through Edward’s efforts, he worked with a collaborative team that was awarded a Mellon grant that produced the 2021 report, “Endangered But Not Too Late: The State of Digital News Preservation,” which provided actionable recommendations of how to work collaboratively to advance digital news preservation into reality.
Thank you Edward for everything that you have accomplished and please join me in wishing him all the best with his retirement!
