| Description: | Charles Mason Hovey was a horticulturalist and author. The Fruits of America was his best-known work. Spurred by national pride and a desire to showcase American fruits, he compiled the information and illustrations in this book and published it in parts between 1848 and 1856. | Condition/Repair: | The sewing is broken halfway through the text block. The conservator recommends rebacking with new cloth and suturing the broken sewing together. |
