Dime novels were published from the middle nineteenth century through the early twentieth century and were largely pulp fiction aimed at a young male audience. This guide lists the dime novels held in Special Collections. The earliest novel dates from 1862, and the collection includes representatives of the major series through the early twentieth century. The guide is arranged in alphabetical order by title and author. Additionally, Special Collections houses a run of facsimile dime novels published by the Dime Novel Club and can be accessed under the series title Facsimile reprint (Dime Novel Club).

How to Use the Collection

The materials listed in this guide are available to all users during regular hours. Materials do not circulate and must be used in the Reading Room only. Most of the dime novels on this list are fully catalogued and available in MERLIN.
