Johannes Janssonius van Waesbergen

Fl. 1661 - 1681

Little is known about van Waesbergen. He was apparently an established bookseller in Amsterdam who became a cartographic publisher in 1664, after he inherited from his father-in-law Jan Jansson many of his plates.

The printing plates of the atlases and town books were sold in 1676. Some years later they came into the ownership of Peter Schenk and Gerard Valck, who brought out further editions.
